Alluminum Gallium Indium Tin Thalium Lead Bismuth
Group 13, 14, 15 Periods 3, 4, 5, 6
Since sodium is hard to store Mr. Liu says that he stores his in a brown bottle with mineral water in a tin can with something that absorbs moisture like kitty litter then, he has it in a plastic bag in the chemical closet. Some of the elements are liquid at room temperature and some are solid. None of them are gas at room temperature. All of the elements in the group have a relatively high density. The elements are not transparent. You cannot see through them. The metals in the group have low boiling and melting points. They are very soft. Alluminum is used very often. We probably see it the most in soda cans. Lead is also used a lot. It was used to paint toys until it was found out that it was poisinous.
Some chemical properties of these are good conductor of heat and electricity, when reacted with oxygen can lose electrons and rust, some dont react with oxygen at all. Some physical properties are that they usualy have a high luster, have a high density, and the ability to be deformed under stress with out cleaving. Metals in mixed groups can also be call other metals.
